Good Day Optimists,
If you haven’t already, I encourage you to register to attend our 3rd District Meeting in Sacramento, April 27th-29th. We have some great things happening, most importantly our District Oratorical Contest at 2 pm, on Saturday afternoon. Please come and support our outstanding young speakers and be amazed at how accomplished they are. Even if you can only make the meeting for Saturday, join us for our morning sessions, lunch before the contest and maybe even stay for our banquet that night.
The Hilton Sacramento Arden West, will again be our hotel base, but all activities except the Banquet and Sunday Breakfast will be held directly across the street from the hotel at the conference rooms of Alta California Regional Center, 2241 Harvard St, Suite 100.
Following this presentation, at the business meeting on Saturday, we will be electing Lt. Governors for next year, to be part of Governor-Elect Dave Given’s team.
Please let me or David know if you are interested in being a Lt. Governor. New blood and new ideas are critical going forward, so please step up and get active in the District.
At our banquet at the Hilton Saturday evening, we are really pleased to have as our guest speaker Mr. Tony Asaro, former longtime Community Relations Director for the Sacramento Rivercats AAA baseball team and now a dynamic motivational speaker. Tony brings a positive and encouraging message to students and parents across Northern California and beyond, and represents the Positive Coaching Alliance, a great organization that helps create a healthy environment for youth sports. He is high energy and will be great!
Rooms at the Hilton are going fast, so please get reservations ASAP. If there are rooms still available, our cutoff to get the Optimist Rate is April 6th.
Let’s have a good showing for our speakers and our kids and make it an inspiring, fun, Optimist weekend…but we can’t do it without you, so please join us.
Here is the registration form.
Thank you all for your commitment to Optimism.
Tim Reardon, Governor
PS – Due to the need for a very early RSVP list and few reservations for the Amtrak Train to Reno for our August District Meeting, we have had to cancel. If you have sent a check you will be contacted about voiding or having your check returned.
