2018-2019 Optimist International Oratorical Contest

The Optimist Club of Reno is encouraging area students to speak their minds about the topic:  “Is There a Fine Line Between Optimism and Reality?” as part of the Optimist International Oratorical Contest for the 2017-2018 year.

Contestants will prepare a four to five-minute presentation on the subject to be presented to the judges. After the Optimist Club of Reno receives your application, an invitation will be sent to invite you to a banquet where the judging will take place. Applications must be received by January 1st, 2019.

Who: Students under the age of 18 as of  October 1, 2018, who have not yet graduated from high school or the equivalent and who are educated in the United States, Canada or the Caribbean.
